Course Overview

CHC50121 - Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care

The CHC50121 Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care will enable you to expand your work opportunities in the child care area to roles as:• Early childhood educator• Child development worker• Children’s advisor• Supervisor, manager, coordinator, director or team leader in a children’s services agency. In our course you will learn how to plan, implement and manage programs in early childhood services in accordance with licensing, regulatory and duty of care requirements. In most states it is the highest qualification required for a career as a Director or Service Manager for a centre-based care.

Course Duration & Structure

  • Classroom and practical placement components
  • Delivered face-to-face, at one day per week for 63 weeks along with 8 hours per week of research and project work and 8d hours per week of Workplace Tasks Applications
  • Minimum of 280 hours of placement with a registered Early Education & Care Facility

Entry Requirements

  • Applicants will be required to hold a previous certificate III qualification either CHC30121 OR CHC30113 Certificate III in Early Childhood education and care.
  • Applicants will be required to undertake a pre-training review
  • Current Working with Children check
  • Current Police Check

Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL)

For students who have previously completed a Nationally Accredited course maybe eligible to receive credit towards the course.
RPL is offered to any Learner who can provide evidence of competency for the units offered within this Diploma in Early Childhood Education course. During the enrolment process a potential Learner may discuss any prior evidence before commencing training to determine if they are eligible for RPL. An additional fee for this service will be discussed with you upon application.

For eligible students, Victorian and Commonwealth Government funding is available through the Skills First Program.
For full fee paying students, payments plans maybe available

  • Concession fee: $300 (includes GST)
  • Non Concession fee: $1500 (includes GST)
  • Fee for service: $7286.64 (includes GST)

* Replacement of lost learner resources will incur a replacement fee
* A payment of AUD$20 may be required for the issuing of official academic transcript
